The Chicago Walkers club is a non-profit organization created to promote and to offer fitness and competitive racewalking for all ages and fitness levels.
CWC offers its members a variety of racewalking/fitness programs year round that are geared to enhance overall fitness and develop/improve racewalking technique. The primary program, 9AM Saturday Fitness Walk , is held every Saturday morning - rain, snow or shine. The 8AM Saturday Advanced Workout is geared for members wanting an additional workout in speed and endurance. CWC also has other Training programs for its members for endurance and speed. What You Want to Know intends to provide racewalk-related information such as proper footwear and heart rate monitoring.
CWC plans great events for its members during each year - both competitive and social. CWC’s Races section includes information about both the club's and regional or national races as well as other related activities. The club conducts a half-day Racewalk Clinic for all members in racewalking technique (usually by outside coach); has an annual shoe
clinic; and presents occasional talks by physical and medical specialists. Social activities
include ethnic dinner outings, summer gatherings, and year-end holiday party.
