2013 IAAF World Chamnpionships - Moscow, Russia - Women's 20km Photo Story

Trailing the lead pack another pack formed with the Chinese (Hong Lui and HuanHuan Sun) leading Russia's third woman Vera Sokolva and Guatamala's Mirna Ortiz clumped together.

The race was definitely one of packs.

With individuals struggling alone.

 

The Italians knew to work together with Antonella Palmisano and Eleonora Giorgi walking side by side and coming through 10km in (45:45 and 45:46).
