Entering the stadium unchallenged, Aleksandr Ivanov was greeting with a standing ovation by a jubilant crowd.

Ivanov comfortably completed the 1+ laps in the stadium to finish in 1:20:58.

He was followed by China's Ding Chen in 1:21:09

Rounding out the medal winners was Spain's Miguel Ángel López who finished third in 1:21:21

Ivanov crossed the line relatively fresh.

Chen was elated at his performance.
